Bubble Bites Series - Episode 10 (FINAL EPOSODE)

25th June 2020, 5:30pm

Creative Mercury Bay presents our tenth and final episode of:

In this weeks episode we feature the below artists:

Diana Morcom & Helen Lee - Classical Pianist & Flautist

Helen Lee in recent years has been involved with The Mercury Bay Big Band who perform locally regularly. She has also played bass guitar and flute with the family band, Coroblues. Helen is always keen on a 'jam' with local musicians and has enjoyed these times, spontaneously, at the local music club.

Playing classical music is also a passion but requires a lot of focus. During lockdown, Helen had her flute, sax and guitar with her. Her flute called out to her. Helen is delighted and honoured to play two pieces with Diana Morcom by Piazzola.

Diana Morcom started playing piano at the age of six, and has spent a lifetime loving piano music. She has played solo concerts, chamber music, accompaniments and has taught the piano for much of her life. Diana is mostly retired now, but still loves to get together with other musicians.

Diana and Helen will be performing Oblivion and Cafe 1930 by Astor Piazzolla and Diana will do a solo of La Puerta del Vino by Claude Debussy.

Good Gracious Annie - Folk/Country Musicians

Good Gracious Annie consists of Alan & Julia Rhodes and Pippa Le Lievre. They have been performing together locally for about 15 years; originally as part of the Irish band ‘The Descendenz’. ‘Good Gracious Annie’ plays a folky/bluegrass fusion style influenced by traditional music and a wide range of current musicians from all over the world. We have fun switching between guitar, mandolin, banjo, bass, djembe, autoharp and fiddle and enjoy creating 3 part harmonies to accompany them.

They will be performing original songs entitled Kuaotunu Sands written by Pippa le Lievre and Old Times & Tonight written by Alan Rhodes. There is also an instrumental piece by Alan Rhodes called Cobwebs in the Attic/Where is my Belt.

Dylan Wade - Soul/Blues/Jazz/Folk Singer

Dylan Wade is a performing musician with many years of musical experience up his sleeve. His guitar playing and style is so diverse and skilled that it can fit into many musical genres, and his own compositions do exactly that. Combining catchy rhythmic percussive feels with insightful uplifting lyrics, from subtle intricate sweet fingerpicking instrumentals to roots powered funky grooves, it will take you on a musical journey. Infusing new-age soul into blues, reggae, folk, funk, jazz, with a stream of consciousness ever-fresh vocal delivery that is truly inspired and comes from Aotearoa-New Zealand.

Dylan‘s music reflects the journey and experience of life in many different environments and cultures. From the Deserts of the Middle East to the Lakes of Scandinavia to the Himalayan Mountains to the Pacific Ocean and so much more….

He’s performed and toured internationally, playing in many different venues and festivals in the U.S.A, England, Japan, Finland…to name a few

Since the 90’s he formed, managed and was the frontman of several bands and has considerable experience as both a band player and as a soloist.

He has toured extensively around New Zealand and continues to be a part of various unique musical collaborations

Dylan will be performing original songs The Speed of Light, Freedom and One Type.
